Description: Phenology is the study of happenings in the natural world: when birds migrate, when flowers bloom, the weather conditions. Larry Weber makes an intimate study of the natural world from his home in Barnum, Minnesota.
About the Author: Larry Weber has taught science for more than forty years. In a phenology-based course, he shares his knowledge of the natural world, often taking his students on “Web Walks.” In 1993, he was named Minnesota Science Teacher of the Year. Larry lives with his wife, Frannie, on a farm in northeastern Minnesota where he pursues critters with binoculars, a camera, and a close-up lens. He writes a weekly nature column for a Duluth newspaper and has weekly programs on two radio stations. He often speaks at state parks and nature centers. He is one of the founders of the Minnesota Phenology Network.
