“This book portrays realistic societal issues facing our youth and families today . . . and the importance in life of hard work, a good attitude, and finding that ‘spark' or ‘passion,’ like hockey, in everything you do. Hockey is like life . . . when you're ‘up against the boards,’ you just have to keep your head up, maintain a solid base, and keep your feet moving to defeat life's body checks.”
—Scott Oliver, former Roseau High School head hockey coach, 2007 State AA Minnesota High School Hockey Champions
